Headteacher’s Memo – June 12, 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
This week, our school has been exploring the theme of making healthy choices—an important foundation for both wellbeing and lifelong success. Across all year groups, pupils have been learning about how the decisions they make each day can positively impact their physical health, mental wellbeing and overall happiness.
In classrooms and beyond, children have been discussing nutritious food choices, the importance of staying active, and ways to look after their emotional health. It has been encouraging to see pupils reflecting on their habits, setting personal goals and supporting one another in making positive decisions.
As a school, we are committed to helping our pupils develop the knowledge and confidence they need to lead healthy, balanced lives. By working in partnership with families, we can reinforce these messages and ensure that our children are equipped to make thoughtful, informed choices now and in the future.
The following pupils have been commended for their ability to make healthy choices:
Reception- Skylah who chose to swop her chocolate and popcorn for more healthy choices and brought a banana and apple into school yesterday.
Year 1/ 2 – Theo, for working hard to make healthy choices in his learning and outside the classroom.
Year 3/ 4 – Mia, for making healthy choices regarding her activities and her work ethic.
Year 5/6 = Kenny, for making really sensible decisions about his behaviours which have helped him focus on his learning and be an excellent role model for younger children.
Secret Students
A student is chosen anonymously and randomly at the start of each school day. The class teacher will then monitor the positive behaviour of the secret student throughout the day and that student is named if they have demonstrated our school values throughout the day.
The secret students who were celebrated in our celebration assembly this week were:
Reception – Adam, Addison, Elijah, Lottie
Year 1/2 – Delilah, April, Elijiah, Kendall
Year 3/4 – Chrizette, David, Nikola
Year 5/6 – Tianna, Kenny, Eleanor
Well done to you all!
Examples of good work this week…

Attendance Matters
We have started to look at class attendance is a slightly different way with a focus on the progress made by the class on the previous week. Ceres made the most progress this week.

Sacred Heart Sports Day – Wednesday 17th June
We are very excited to be holding our Sacred Heart Sports Day on Wednesday 17th June and look forward to welcoming parents and families to support the children during the afternoon events. The picnic lunch will start at 12:00, parents can attend and bring food and all school food will be packed lunches on that day too.
All children will need to arrive in their PE kit, have sunscreen applied before arriving to school and have a water bottle for the day. In the event of bad weather and postponement of the day, all parents will be informed via Pupil Asset and a new date will be set.
Notices
- Tesco have donated some summer dresses. Please contact the office if you would like one free of charge.
- As the weather is becoming warmer, please ensure your child has a refillable water container/flask and sunscreen applied before they come into school.
- Please can you ensure that your children come to school in full school uniform, if you need help with this, we have been donated lots of uniform or can assist in getting funds to help support you with this. We have a stock of summer dresses for free.
- We are a ‘nut-free’ school. To that end, please do not send your child in with nuts for packed lunch or use peanut butter for sandwiches.
- Please can parents not park in the staff car park unless they have been given permission. This is not always supervised and so we rely on parents to follow our advice on this.
