Headteacher’s Memo – April 17th 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter. As we enter a new term we are looking forward to many new beginnings. ICS have started our afterschool clubs and have a range of additional activities planned for the rest of the year for both pupils and our wider community. We also have a trip to Pensthorpe on the horizon as we further enrich our curriculum.
Ms Stuart led Monday’s assembly on the topic of belonging, the assembly reinforced the importance of feeling a sense of belonging and making others feel like they belong too. This is particularly pertinent as we welcome both new staff and pupils this term.
The following pupils have been commended for promoting a sense of belonging in their actions this week:
- Reception =
Vivienne was really welcoming to Delilah when she returned to school from being poorly. She gave Delilah a big hug and said, 'I will help you put your coat away.’
Delilah told everyone individually at home time that she loved them.
Rena was really encouraging during learning and said, "If you keep trying, you will get there.”
- Year 1/ 2= Gaddiel – For playing with another child during breaktime when he was on his own and adjusting his play to suit the other person. Well done, Gaddiel!
- Year 3/4 = Lily - Helping children to feel welcome and part of the class.
- Year 5/6 = Charlie – Going out of his way to be kind and helpful to Mrs Young so that she feels welcomed to Ceres class.
Secret Students
A student is chosen anonymously and randomly at the start of each school day. The class teacher will then monitor the positive behaviour of the secret student throughout the day and that student is named if they have demonstrated our school values throughout the day.
The secret students who were celebrated in our celebration assembly this week were:
Reception – Elijah, Evie, Riley
Year 1/2 – Jennifer, Delilah, Maggie, Emily
Year 3/4 – Theodora, David
Year 5/6 – Eleanor
Well done to you all!
Attendance Matters
As you all know students thrive and strive when they are in school. Reception and Year 3/4 were this week’s best attenders - well done!

- We are a ‘nut-free’ school. To that end, please do not send your child in with nuts for packed lunch or use peanut butter for sandwiches.
