Headteachers Weekly Memo – 14th November 2025
Dear Parent/Carer
Behaviour
Teaching staff have identified the following students for demonstrating the behaviour for the week ‘Kindness’. This has been very much tied into ‘Anti-bullying week’ following Miss Stuart’s ‘Pay it Forward’ assembly.
-
Reception – Elijah is always kind in his play and thoughtful to others
-
Y1/2 - Iceni – Albie has been so welcoming to our new pupil this week and checking in with his friends when they are unhappy
-
Y3/4 - Walsingham – Nikola, without thinking, automatically helped another pupil who had dropped counters on the floor
-
Y5/6 - Ceres – Kenny has been reminding others of ways to be kind and respectful towards the adults in the classroom
Secret Students
A student is chosen anonymously and randomly at the start of each school day. The class teacher will then monitor the positive behaviour of the secret student throughout the day and that student is named if they have demonstrated our school values throughout the day.
The secret students who were celebrated in our celebration assembly this week were:
Reception – Rena, Evie and Maeve
Year 1/2 – Kendall, Amelie, Alex and Oliver
Year 3/4 – Chrizette and Erica
Year 5/6 – Oakley, Thomas, Kenny and Harvey
Well done to you all for demonstrating good, positive behaviours.

Attendance Matters
As you all know students strive when they are in school. Reception were this weeks’ best attenders - Well done!
| Reception | Year 1/2 | Year 3/4 | Year 5/6 |
| 97.50% | 87.97% | 90.28% | 78.35% |
Remembrance Day
This week we paid tribute to those that have lost their lives in war and armed conflicts. In recognition of this important day, the school council representatives laid a wreath at the war memorial in Swaffham Town centre and participated in the service by reading prayers with Father Mark. In school at two-minute silence was observed and our very own wreath was made by each pupil producing their very own poppy.
Friends of Sacred Heart
We’re still looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our new Friends of Sacred Heart group. Please contact the school office if you are interested and help us make a difference with fundraising, school events and more! The first meeting will be held in school at 2:30-3:00 pm in the library on Wednesday 19th November.

Breakfast Club
We are delighted to introduce our Breakfast Club, running every school day from 8:10 AM to 8:40 AM. This is a great way for your child to start the day in a calm and positive environment. Initially this will be by invite only but feel free to express an interest with the main office so that we can extend this to more students as we expand this provision.
The sessions will be free of charge and will be run by Mr Greenwood and Miss Patel.
What’s on the menu?
To begin with, we’ll be serving toast to all children who attend.
Year 6s will be working on Maths and/or English.

Maths homework
Following on from the assessment week, the data shows that pupils across each year group need more support with Maths. In response to this, we have invested in MyMaths.
To support your child's Maths learning we have set them up on an interactive platform called MyMaths. This should help your child to structure their maths work and enable you to see how they are progressing. Coming home this evening, is a letter detailing their username and password. Please go to www.mymaths.co.uk and follow the instructions on your letter to help your child to log-in, initially using the school username and password where you will find games and activities on the dashboard which can be completed at any time. They will then need to log in to their portal and complete activities set for them by their teacher, this may be a lesson to watch and then a homework activity.
Year 6 Booster sessions
Year 6 students are invited to attend booster sessions for both English and Maths after school on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm.
Nativity Play
The details of the nativity plan will be followed up in November’s lesson Newsletter. The dates are at the bottom of this memo.
